    The Neal Adams run is a must read on the original x-men. If you like X-Men, it's hard not to find something in the original series that you like.

      I read, and still have, the Dutch translations from around 1970.
      That was from X-Men issue 11 on, I believe.

      I miss those days, with simple dialogue like "You're reign of terror stops here, you villain!", and clear-cut action.

      Nowadays, all panels are crammed to the gills with characters and text, and I often find myself wondering "in which sequence do I read this?" "Do I really need fifty lines of text in one text balloon?", "Who the hell is that character?"

      They should make retro-style comics for old geezers like me.
      When I see the Green Goblin in a Captain American Iron Man armour leading the Avengers, I get all confused....


      I started reading the US X-Men comics when Rogue joined (issue 171?).
      Back when Wolverine vs Sabretooth actually still meant something....
