Do you think Steve Rogers is back already?

    So...

Marvel's 70th anniversary is kicking off.

Captain America #600 hitting the stands.

    Captain America movie in development.

All of a sudden Hitch is off of FF and onto this...

    REBORN #1 (of 5)
    Written by ED BRUBAKER
    Penciled by BRYAN HITCH
50/50 Covers by BRYAN HITCH & ALEX ROSS
    Variant Cover by JOHN CASSADAY
    Solicit to be revealed soon
    32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99

I was kind of hoping Brubaker would have a very very long run of Bucky-Cap stories before Steve Rogers does return to claim his title. (and I think it would be cool if Brubaker jumped to a Winter Soldier ongoing after that, preferable co-starring the Black Widow)

I am one of the biggest Captain American fans you will find. All though I have enjoyed the "Cap is dead" stories and Bucky returning and taking his place.
It is inevitable that Steve Rogers will eventually return. If he does make it back in time for #600 I will be resuming my Captain America collecting.
I don't collect the current Captain America run with Bucky but I do see that new Captain America in the Avengers. He is currently hiding out in his secret brownstone with the new renegade Avengers. I do like him but eventually, we all know Steve Rogers will return.

Ten bucks says Steve Rogers is in some sort of cryogenic form in a laboratory waiting to be defrosted and brought back to life. The dead body you saw was probably a brain dead clone of some sort.
They'll bring him back, the key word is "when".
The movie is a good start or like you said issue #600.

Either way, Steve Rogers will be back.

When's all this come out ? I don't follow Marvel,.. Except X-Force Dark Avengers, & the Zombie stuff...

IMO They Dropped the Ball Huge with the Death of Cap.
You see,.. with all the Secret Invasion Non Sense,... I thought that was a Perfect way For them to Bring Steve Back,.. Because,.. well they coulda rolled with the Idea that , THAT wasn't Steve that got Killed, It was a Skrull, & Steve was actually a Prisoner with in the Skrull Empire... But NOOOOOOOOOO, Instead imo,.. for the Most Part Secret Invasion was the Invasion of Crap,.. However the Direction of the Ending was pretty twisted,.. I Do Like Dark Avengers.

There was a hint recently in #49 that Sharon Carter saw something at one point while she was a captive of the Red Skull and Arnim Zola that she shouldn't have seen...mainly being some body suspended in a type of light-filled cube. Considering Zola's experience with genetics and clones, all signs point to the original Cap being alive somewhere and Sharon only killed his clone.

I give credit to Brubaker for NOT giving in to the easy-out Secret Invasion would have provided him but going with his own direction of the story as originally intended.

I've always thought the Cap "picked off" was a clone, because it never made sense to place him out in public exposed and defenseless. The bigger 'clean up' question is how they are going to fix Spiderman in this alternate universe. I deplore it. If it's their intent to keep him there, I'll never collect him again. It was a complete cop out to start with and is a complete disconnect from
the rest of the bigger story involving Cap.

                    HA!

For those of you that stopped reading Cap after the "death" of Steve Rogers. I understand an attachment to specific characters, but your missing some really good super-hero comics. Brubaker's Cap & Daredevil deliver every month.
As for Steve coming back? I don't know if we'll get Steve Rogers. After seeing pages from the last issue, I wonder if we won't have the son of Steve and Sharon in the roll of Cap.
                    Hey! Check out the pictures.

I would have felt really jipped if they did that with Steve Rogers.

But....Mockingbird is back. Even though they used that route to bring her back. I always liked her since the first Hawkeye limited series. I wish Hawkeye would put his Hawkeye suit on and quit being this Ronin or Ramen Noodle character. I don't care for it.

At least we can agree on this. Bucky as Captain America is stupid and it needs to come to an end really soon. Captain America is one of the heroes that got me wanting to be a super hero when I was a kid. He stands for everything that America was (at one time).
Bringing Steve Rogers back is (and will) be Marvels way to redeem one of the greatest super hero/icons of their establishment.

Steve Rogers will be back. Everyone comes back eventually.

Does anybody really know a "dead" classic hero?

My opinion? When Marvel wrote the story to kill off Steve Rogers, they already had the way to "bring him back" wrote down. Don't worry, it is coming soon. Marvel just wouldn't be Marvel keeping the great hero of all time dead.

Oh, I don't like Bucky as Cap either....but I've been going along for the ride and waiting to see what Brubaker's got for a pay-off....the Secret Invasion angle would have been the easy-way out IMO....sort of like Mephisto undoing the whole Peter/MJ relationship....easy way out. A good writer doesn't need that and I think Brubaker falls into that category. Seems like he has something up his sleeve in regards to Cap's "death" that involves the Red Skull and his co-horts. And that should prove to be a much richer storyline than "Skrull Cap". In fact, IMO the whole Skrull Invasion turned out to be pretty much a waste of time and money.

... Thats pretty much how I feel about the Whole 2 Half Of Civil War .... I felt the 1st half was pretty good,.. then it went down Hill,.. & Blew Arse with the "Final" outcome of Steve.

Ivasion was worthless,.. I wanted to see something totally different. However, .. I do dig the Dark Avengers so Far,.. I think the 1st 3 issues are pretty good.
