    Walking Dead

    Anyone been following this?

Just read the latest issue and the tension in this new direction just isn't letting up! I honestly love the fact that you really never know what's coming next from issue to issue and that pretty much anything can happen.

I think Robert Kirkman has learned the lesson well from Romero that the zombies are incidental to the character conflicts surrounding the circumstances of the survivors.

The Kirkman books have rapidly become favorites of mine, but there's a line that he sometimes crosses in Walking Dead where it just seems like he's gone too far in torturing his main characters. I understand that there's a theme running through it about humanity being reduced to savagery to survive, but it just doesn't seem necessary to me to be so over-the-top about it. (Two recent examples: the near rape of the main character's eight year old son, and, in the latest issue, one of the twins mutilating a cat for fun.)

    Overall, it's still excellent work.

Invicible is more up my alley.

I love it, but on the other hand it's so painfull.
I mean I actually dread to read the next one, not because it's bad writing, it's just so damned sad. I mean my jaw dropped to the floor when the Prison got overran. What a terrible thing. Still can't belive what happened..........yes, excellent work indeed.

My friend just loaned me the first two volumes of this, collected into hardcovers. Wow, it's really hardcore, but you can't stop reading it. It would be an awesome movie choice or series for tv. They'd have to tone it down a notch, because it's get's really rough in spots. If you've never read this like me, you should check it out for sure!

I had the first few graphic novels. If I try and catch up I need to know what novel came after the one that ended with the policeman saying "WE ARE THE WALKING DEAD!"

I thought the prison killer who cut off teh little girls heads was harsh but when teh heads came back to life again that was over the line.

BUT ! as much as I hate when you go over that line in OTHER books or movies. This is a Zombie story We expect the absolute worst going in.( I still cant stand rape though , wont watch horror films with it. But after reading so much Walking Dead I trust the author did it for teh sake of showing horror at humans devolving not cheap exploitation like I Spit on Your Grave)

As far as I can remember the characters were great the story was great and teh zombies stayed stupid. After the second viewing of teh Dawn of the Dead remake I can accept running Zombies but NOT thinking ones)

When i was a big reader of DeadWorld back in the 80's I could never get over the fact they had a talking Zombie riding a motorcycle.

Question about Walking Dead and the movie 28 Days later. They both start out identical. Which came first?

Rules are made to be broken ( running Zombies) but not intelligent Zombies that ride motorcycles. Learning to ride wasnt all that easy and I cant imagine a dead guy doin it.

Well other than . . okay a ZOmBIE dead guy!
Never saw that action figure series before, old or new?
