Has anyone else been following this nifty little three parter in Batman Confidential? BC is not a book I regularly pickup- for that matter none of the Bat-titles are currently on my reading list.
I picked up the first part mostly because of the super-great Jose Garcia-Lopez art. He's one of my all-time favorite artists, and he really doesn't get the love he dererves. He always turns in a clean, well done piece of work, and he draws a really heroic looking Batman. As should be expected, as he's created a majority of DC's licensing poses and stock art.
Anyway, the series brings King Tut into the Bat books for the first time ever, and while I understand they've had to change his look & alter-ego to avoid the copyright issues with the TV series (Warners doesn't own the rights to the TV series and the characters created specifically for TV). They've done a good job sandwhiching him into the strip, and his alter-ego has an inspired name (don't want to spoil it).
This is what DC should be doing in the Bat series ALL the time. A nice, well-done classic Batman story with a couple oddball supervillains, and no death & gore.
