New Batman writer will make you miss Grant Morrison

    Bwahahaha.... Judd Winnick....BWHAHAHAHA

    http://comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=20246

Just a horrible writer and how he continues to get work amazes me. He starts after the Battle for the Cowl fiasco. Morrison is getting the new Batman and Robin book.

Well...Morrison can't make Batman & Robin any worse then it already is...unless of course, He adds Frank Quitely as the Artist.

I had a hunch who you were talking about before I even opened the thread....
Winnick must have something on DiDio or the higher ups at DC that he's blackmailing them with. Everything he touches turns to crap....he's like the Bizarro King Midas.

They loosed Winnick on Batman before, post-Hush. He was the genius who revived Jason Todd with no explanation. Superboy punching the wall was an afterthought.

I hadn't heard much about Winnick lately. I was hoping his position as favorite was finally starting to fade. Especially since his Titans launch was universally panned.

If this keeps up, they are going to HAVE to give Batman to Geoff Johns to fix.

^ Sorta sad lately that Johns seems to be the only one that can fix what others have so royally f'ed up....DC seriously needs to consider giving DiDio's job to Johns...he's fixing everything DiDio allows to be screwed up eventually anyway.

            LOL!

I gave up on the Bat titles so long ago anyway. Winnick has destroyed Shazam, Green Arrow & Black Canary, Titans, on & on. And the sad part is that after he leaves, other writers go in and completely reboot the garbage he's left and Didio can't see that. Their doing it currently in JSA with the Shazam characters, rebooting to the EXCELLENT JERRY ORDWAY Power of Shazam stuff.

I don't get the whole Jason Todd love either. He was so DETESTED when he was concieved, that the fans actually voted to kill him off. Granted, in the Jim Lee Hush story it was a big "gotcha!" moment, but now it's just silliness spinning out of Dan Didio's insistence on re-creating the Kingdom Come version of DC.

Didio is the worst kind of Fanboy, somebody who cannot come up with anything original and just retreads all his favorite moments over & over. Sadly, all those favorites come from the Gilted Age of the early 90s, the era of foil logos and unlimited variant covers, endless event driven annuals and revamps. He should take a look at his companie's vast publishing backlist and stop running his company out of the "HOT COMICS!" box at the flea market.

And that's as it SHOULD be....the last time the Marvel Family was handled correctly (within the confines of the current DC universe) was under Ordway on "Power of Shazam!"

Winnick on a title is just an accident waiting to happen...

Actually,.. I don't think Winnick is too Bad on Titans,.. I have the 11 issues so far,.. & I like it. However I might be a bit Bias,.. Because I love the characters in the book,.. but NightWing just Left the Team for the Battle of the Cowl BS.

hate ta break it to ya, Dane, but Quitely is going to be the artist on several arcs. Batman and Robin will be done on a rotation basis, sort of like Morrison's XMen run. I for one, can't wait.

Quitely drawing Batman is "the best" reason I've heard to cancel a Batman Comic in long time! Money saved!

Although it would never, ever happen, if I were Editor in Chief, I bring in one of the old guard from comics past to revive the Batman franchise. This may show I'm living in the past, but I'd seriously take a shot at getting Chris Claremont, someone who has never written the character before and may have fresh ideas or new perspectives. Pair him up with a Kubert or steal Jim Lee away from All-Star and I think you've got a cool team.

Not much of a Winnick fan myself, though admittingly I know little of him. I love his Superman/Shazam book.

BTW, Quietly is not that bad. HIs ALl-Star Superman stuff is tolerable and, in parts, quite good.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
