    Geeky Black Manta Helmet Issue.

I am trying to figure out how black Manta's Human head fits into the helmet he wears. It looks impossible in many pics, both from the Comics, and in Figures.
Is there some story behind it??
Does he actually look out the "eyes" in the helmet or is it for fancy optics, or laser beams and a beverage dispenser or something? In most pics, if you compare the scale, his human eyes would be in the upper part of the neck and not looking out the helmet at all. This error has always bothered me. My opinion is that he doesn't actually use the "eye-holes" in the helmet. What do you think?? Here are some different pics.

    Brue, are you in there??

    Unlikely

This one isn't bad at all.

He's got one heck of a long neck.

That always bugged me also. You'd think that Alex Ross would have fixed that but didn't.

If Black Manta were to ever make it onto the big screen he would get some kind of design make over so it would work right. If I'm not mistaken when he appeared on the superfriends toon his neck was shortened so his head look like it was in the helmet.

        Laser Beam Eyes?

I thought I saw somewhere, maybe in Justice that the "eyes" were for laser beams...I could be wrong. I'll have to look again...

or, Black Manta's helmet could be similar to Iron Man's. Black Manta doesn't need eye holes because the helmet has a virtual reality interface.
                Hey! Check out the pictures.

Ross and some others tried to address this issue by making his neck longer. To me, it makes him look like a booble-head. The SF design worked because his helmet was lower, and was also rounder, making it look like it encompassed his whole head. Many artists draw it way too short from top to bottom. The Brave and the Bold animated design is cool, but it wouldn't work in practical terms.

Since hes underwater all the time, I always thought the helmet "eyes" were cameras/lights (like a mini sub) and he had some kind of screen inside the neck portion.
