    Nightwing in the Barris Batmobile

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but I saw this over at the Bat-Blog. There's a bit where Nightwing uses the 1966 Batmobile to run over some ninjas. Anybody read this? What's the context? Did he foil an invasion of the trophy room or something?

    Pic doesn't work.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Works for me! That looks awesome, a visual link to an earlier era.

That's too bad you can't see it! It's a triptych of panels, the first is a torso-shot of Rhas-Al-Ghul rising out of what we must assume is the Lazarus Pit, with swirling mists about him, lit all in green and looking rah-ther sinistah.

The second panel is a rear profile of the 60s series Batmobile slamming into a bunch of ninjas, who are flying about every which direction and partially obscuring our view of this excellent machine as it SCREEEEECHes across the panel.

The last panel is the money shot, my friend: Nightwing in his blue-blacks, leaping from the 60s Batmobile depicted in luxurious profile, moonlight gleaming off its windshield cups, smoke rising about it as though about a thing of Hades. The black and red colors of the car complement the cool grays of the road and the blues of Dick's outfit.

I'm going to buy this comic book just to own this panel (along with the gorgeous cover).

Wow, they usually won't show the actual TV show mobile in the comics. They use the similar comic design from 68 if they want to hit that era. I'm pretty sure Dick just killed some ninjas though. But who cares, right? It sure looked cool!

Nah, it's only bashing combat so they get a recovery roll in 20 turns....

"Bowling for Ninjas" has got to be the funniest thing I've read in quite some time.

                          Thanks for the pic Riffster.

That is really neat to see the TV Batmobile. Did they have to license it though? Because I thought they couldn't use it without paying.

If it wasn't cleared, expect Barris to be contacting DC soon. He's the reason no toys were made of "his" Batmobile in the previous 20 or so years before Mattel and DC struck a deal with him.

Maybe DC can now use it when they want. I'm sure if they can't, we'll hear about it soon.
