No...never during the Adams/O'Neal run. Mr. Zero 1st appeared back in Batman #121 (1959), he had one appearance, as Mr. Freeze, in the 60s (Detective #373, 1968), probably due to his revival on the Batman TV show. He appeared as a background character in Batman #291-294 (1977). It wasn't until Batman #308 (1979) when he was revived once again and began to appear semi-regularly as a Batman foe.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

yeah i didn't think he was, it still would of been cool (no pun intented) to see their version of freeze.
when was his costume redesigned to look like the super powers figure?Comment

The Super Powers costume debuted in 1985 and I think it was first shown in the comics in the Super Powers mini-series tie-in.
That's always been one of my least favorite versions...I prefer the Capt. Cold wannabee look (from Batman #308) or the Kelley Jones redesign.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

What Anthony said. I think Freeze's look was actually designed for the toyline and changed in the comics, much like Kirby redesigning Mantis, Steppenwolf, Parademons and Kalibak (he may have redesigned Orion too, but that never stuck outside of the Super Powers mini).
Seems like that look got a sneak-peak in Who's Who at the time. I never cared for it much either.
I like both designs from the animated series best.

I was WRACKING my brain a few years back trying to figure out which version
would be appropriate for my custom collection and although I saw the
1979 COLD WANNABE version---and it was very "superheroey", I still went
with his look in his cameo in 1977 as it just felt more unique to the character
as it was a throwback to his brief '68 appearance (if I'm following your
description and my source material correctly)----more "classic" than
"70's superhero".
I wish I had your simple breadown you just described here back THEN.
I was actually kinda shooting in the dark making the decision I did....
I wasn't exactly sure "what was what"."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

i must be the only one who likes super powers freeze, but i also think the batman #308 version is terrible. i always thought of mr. freeze as the 5th batman villian although twoface and scarecrow are just as endearing.Comment
