the comic action and pocket hero spidey remind me of this show i think it's because of the lack of detail.

Thanks!...I think. Now it will be even louder in my head!

I still have incidental music from this series running through my head, from 30 years ago. Esp. the "join us next week" teaser music, and of course the theme.
And yeah, Bud Collyer invented the superhero voice switcheroo. And he did it so well too.

I put that music in your head for the rest of the day didn't IIt was too funny...I was watching one of the 1/2 hour segments the other day, and during one of those endless swinging/musical parts, I heard the music that was at the end of the GIJoe Book and record "Rescue From Adventure Team Headquarters". I've always liked that music, and I thought that was pretty cool.

the only thing that makes the extended swinging tolerable is the groovy jazz soundtrack that goes with itYeah, the later episodes are like bad acid trips. Even more annoying than recycling whole episodes is the repetitive swinging sequences which go on for 10 minutes at a time.
I'm glad to have all of these on DVD, but other than "The Origin of Spider-Man" (which is my favorite episode), the later ones are just aggravating to watch.

Soles would occasionally do television in Canada (he was a CBC radio guy for a long time) and I always found it jarring watching him. It's Spider-Man's voice coming out of this guy who kind of looks like Harry Shearer.Leave a comment:

Same here. When I read my son a Spidey comic, I do the voice change between Peter and Spidey like he did and I try and mimic his voice.Cool interview, thanks for posting. Whenever I think of Spidey, it's Paul's voice I hear.

Great info MIB41 and palitoy! Paul Soles was indeed the voice of Spider-Man and Peter Parker. Here is an interview with him about the series:
