    Comic book store Owners/Workers

In the coming months, I will be looking to complete my collection of DC Special Blue Ribbon, Best of DC Blue Ribbon and Adventure Digests. I thought about trying to get them on ebay but when you find a good price for one the seller want crazy for shipping or pay high price for book but reasonnable shipping cost. I was wondering if we have any member who own or work for Comic Book store that deals in back issues. The DC Digests were released in the 80's and are about the size of the Archie Digests. Marvel also released some Digest sizes for Transformer, GI Joe and Star.
Let me know what you have.
Here's what I need, currently I am in no hurry to buy at this time.
    DC Special Blue Ribbon: 20, 21, 23
    Best of DC Special Blue Ribbon: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, 32, 35, 36, 37, 39, 40, 41, 43, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 51, 52, 53, 55, 56, 57, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 70 which was the last issue I think.
    Adventure: 490, 492, 498, 499, (501 and on ?)
    Transformer: 3, 4, 5, (7 and on ?)
    GI Joe: 4, (6 and on ?)
    Star 3, 8, 10, (12 and on ?)

Hard to come by sometimes as they weren't that popular. I don't even remember any comic shop I went to stocking them back when they were new. They were probably special ordered and went directly to that person who ordered them. The only ones I do recall in the shops new were Adventure Comics (of which I need two more). Like you said, those that have them usually think they're sitting on a gold mine and are overpriced but sometimes you can run across a lot on ebay and get a good deal. Being an uncommon size product for a comic shop they are usually not carried, even as back issues. Just like the Treasury size mags are hard to find, especially not all banged up. They really were not easy to store.
Even now I don't have anywhere to put my digests or treasuries and finding bags/boards/boxes is difficult as well as because the comic shop guys don't want to order a case of something that nobody is going to buy. One pack of bags is probably all anyone would ever need to bag every DC/Marvel digest ever printed.
