The Crow and The Phantom are Getting Rebooted on Film

Plans are in the works to reboot The Crow and The Phantom. I'm all for the Phantom as he's one of my all time favs and I did like the 90's version.

As for the Crow I honestly believe they should leave that alone. every sequel has been horrible and the original is such a classic and has the tragedy behind it plus you just can't top it.....

The Phantom: Yes! I liked the first movie too, depsite Treat Williams chewing scenery like a goat.

The Crow: Meh. The first one was okay. 2nd one was horrid and I didn't ever bother with the series or the third movie. I think that's a done-in-one they've tried to over-exploit, personally.

Wasnt there a Crow tv series a few years ago too? Alongside the multitude of movies, I would say that property has been milked inside out...let it go. Same with Robocop...unless they do something fundamentally different in the new one, its just not worth the effort.

Now the Phantom was fine. I had heard the film did phenomenally well in Europe, and a couple of times a European only sequel was tossed around. Never did come about, and I'm betting Billy Zane probably wouldnt be interested in returning to the purple suit.
According to Dark Horizons, the reboot here involves pushing the character into the modern era, and will include the wife and kiddies in the plot. Hope they dont mess it up too much!?

Here's to hoping they bring the Phantom Up to Date and maybe add some Dark and Gritty to it. I know...Make him a Meth-head and his wife a Crack Ho...Yeah baby...throw in a few references to Mandrake the Magician and his Heroin habit and it is a greenlight all the way downtown...

For crying out loud, The Crow was a perfect film, I for one will NEVER see the remake. While their at it, why not remake The Godfather, Star Wars, and Casablanca? Here's a suggestion, how about coming up with some original ideas you Hollywood dopes!

Leave Crow alone it was great My bros know that I love Billy Zane's movies and love the phantom ( it is in my guilty pleasures stack) I hope they do the reboot well I too am tired of the overly digital look films like sin city. the first time it was groundbreaking since it was so shot for shot to the GN, 2nd time (300) an interesting asteatic to capture the color shifts he used now it just seems sad

From what i hear they're gonna start shooting in Australia so there will be real scenery not CG which is good. As long as they stick to good action and a solid plot and No over the top Characters. The movie should do fine.

I think The Crow has been exhausted. Not sure what's left to do with that character...
