    Tales from the crypt

Hi,I am looking or a bit of advice or information. I have an original copy of tales from the crypt (british edition) No1. approx 1962. I know it is quite rare because I have not been able to find anything out about it. It was published by the arnold book company in London, and that is as much as I know. A dealer has offered me £100 sterling, is this a fair price or is he taking me for a fool. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually there is no "Tales From the Crypt" #1...as originally printed by EC Comics, "Tales From the Crypt" began it's numbering with #20, as it had previously been "The Crypt of Terror" (and before that "Crime Patrol"). And "Tales From the Crypt" #20 was printed in 1950.

So more than likely what you have is a British "annual" and I'm assuming it's reprint material as well. As far as the Jack Davis cover, the Senate hearings were in the 50s so I'm not sure there's any value on a '62 edition as again it's more than likely a reprint.

There have been reprints by Gladstone/Russ Cochran/Gemstone over the years and there've been a few #1s.

"Tales From the Crypt" #20 (1950) goes for around $1950 NM
