George Lucas' long awaited epic finally coming to DVD

    Coming to stores March 10

Not as great as it could have been with a script by Steve Gerber but still like Lea Thompson, Jeffrey Jones, "Howard", music by Thomas Dolby - really liked the soundtrack. I'm looking forward to it.

They actually should redo this movie now with CGI. Howard the Duck was a really Fun comic that I liked. I was so disappointed with the movie......

      I like this movie.

It certainly is better than SW episodes 1-3.

In my opinion his 4th best movie

      Star Wars
      Empire
      American graffitti
      Howard the Duck
      Return of the Jedi

i am not sure if i can credit him for the jones movies because there were talented people surrounding him to fix his problems

And here I thought they were finally bringing out the Star Wars Christmas Special. Thank goodness I was wrong.

So do I. I hope Lucas gets desperate enough to release it on DVD because I need a better copy. I've watched it so many times now that I'm beginning to like it. Not as Star Wars of course, but as a sort of demented fan film.

                Meh.

I think Lucas gets a lot of the blame because Lucasfilm was one of the film
companies producing it AND Lucas is such a big sci-fi icon---really
in the context of alll the movies Brue listed---HOWARD doesn't even belong in the list---
(Gloria Katz was the ACTUAL person that was the main producer---
Lucad allowed his name to be used as EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, basically
to help sell the film---I'm sure he regrets it)

And, yeah, it's a marginally watchable movie----but good luck trying
to convince most people it's better than REVENGE OF THE SITH Brue--
                THAT'S a longshot

                Meanwhile Brue says...
i am not sure if i can credit him for the jones movies because there
were talented people surrounding him to fix his problems
Hate on Lucas all you like...it still doesn't negate the fact that Lucas came
up with the idea for the JONES character and the plot ideas for all 4 movies
while he had virtually NOTHING to do with the HOWARD plot.

Now WILLOW, on the other hand, he HAD much more to do with the
production on THAT one....he wrote the storyline---akin to the JONES movies.

I haven't seen Howard the Duck in well over 20 years. At the time I kind of liked it, and was another who had a crush on Leah Thompson (she's still very cute). I knew it had bombed and was called the worst movie ever and all that, but to me it was just another bad movie to rent and MST3K with my friends before that show even started up. I recall it being slightly racey (implied sex between Thompson's character and the Duck), so I don't think my kids will be watching this for a while.

I hated this movie. In fact it is so bad I walked out of the theater and never saw the whole thing.

Makes you wonder: if they interchanged Jar Jar with Howard, and put the duck in Star Wars?
                        Would it be any better?
