I certainly hope they don't kill Bruce Wayne. Unlike Superman, Green Lantern, and even Captain America, Batman is completely human, unaltered by alien DNA or technology, or even a "super serum". To have him die and come back later (which he would have to. No one else is going to stay Batman long) would violate the grounded core of the character.
I also hope this doesn't point to the rumors about Thomas Wayne being true. If so, Morrison has literally clustered an entire mythology with one incoherent storyline.
If it's the Thomas Wayne thing, then the whole reason for Bruce's existence as "Batman" is a lie...definitely status quo changing but STOOPID! Only for him to discover down the road that it doesn't matter HOW he became Batman but that he IS Batman and has accomplished much good in his crimefighting career. Something will happen that will eventually snap him out of his funk and he'll be back in the cape and cowl. I just don't think I'll be around to see it. I haven't looked back at Spider-Man since the whole STOOPID Mephisto-undo-the-marriage thing so I think I can walk away from the Dark Knight too. I'm not worried....there's always Adam West....HIS Batman never let us down.
Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!
Thanks Black Knight. Well there you go. The feasability of him flaking out in his 30's seems a bit of a stretch. Perhaps he's just having an early mid-life crisis and wants to take a holiday? I don't know. Those ideas don't sound any better than what DC is offering, so I imagine the real deal will return. Actually being dead is a no brainer. These stories are what I like to call an extended version of Marvel's old "What if " issues. But instead of there just being one issue, these story lines stretch out as long as sales support the concept. But at the end, they all come back. They have to! Just ask Barry Allen.
Bad enough the big companies have been alienating ANY potential NEW readers for decades...looks like they're working on the remaining readers as well...
I forsee a day when all Delayed Constantly and Marbles (lost) focus solely on reprints of the earlier material.
not really, if you thijk about the fact they insinated his dad hired Chill, same effect.
