    Marvel's Noir Line

Anyone interested in this upcoming line? The concepts sound pretty cool (Spidey and the X-Men characters so far in a pulp, film noir style....supposedly Daredevil will join the line later).

I didn't care for the artowrk in the Spider-Man preview though....too modern looking, especially with the coloring. Would have preferred a "flatter" coloring style instead of the computer effects.

Let's see: everyone dressed in black and carrying a gun. Another excuse to print the same stuff. Pass.

Spider-Man looks interesting, my version was going to be very close to this, now back to the drawing board.

I've been interested in the X-Men one, but the $3.99 price tag may scare me off.

              Hmmmm....

I gotta give it a resounding *meh.* Frank Miller did this EXACT thing with Daredevil years ago.... it's what made him popular, combining the noir/superhero thing.... BUT he did it in continuity. It wasn't a reimagining of the character or anything, it was a certain type of story being told with the characters. This doesn't do it for me 'cos they're slapping characters that are sort of like the regular Marvel ones into a sort of noir setting.

It's another one of them "we wanna do something new without the risk of actually doing something new" kinda things.
