      Hi...
      Yes. it's out..there was a #0 issue with 3 covers...a Special prose story-comic with a couple cover...and a#1 with 2 or 3 covers.
Not all that great, IMHO. I was looking forward to CA, but this is so far...meh. It involves the original CA's no-account son taking on the name, something to do with aliens who live in people's bloodstreams, and a CA that can transform briefly into various super-powered characters, but only the ones they've created for this series who are bad guys, (I think). It's not very exciting, at least so far. Nice artwork though. The prose book origin was particularly underwhelming with really distracting "tough-guy" writing, as if they wanted CA to be Mike Hammer.

I understand DC Comics is trying to get the title back, maybe they'll revive the Clive Arno character & the power coins bit...say, speaking of which, does anyone remember when the coins showed up in the revamped Superboy book awhile back? The scavenger or some such villain had them?

Anyway, here's a link to the Moonstone books Captain Action page:

I agree with Johnnystorm, this series isnt all that great. I really dont care for this take on the character at all.
Hopefully DC, or somebody else grabs the rights and corrects this mess, before it's too late!!

If DC wants it, they'll get it. They've got deeper pockets than Moonstone.

The only reason why I picked up issue 1 was because of the Mandrake The Magician Back-Up story. Other than that, I would have to say I wouldn't have even bothered.

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
            The beauty that surrounds them
            Isn't it a pity".

I'm really not thrilled with the multiple cover variants either, but I usually find these in the clearance bins later in the year, so if I want to read it I choose the cover I like best then wait out the other one til it gets reduced to a buck.

I really hate the variants that are available only at certain comic shops or conventions. I see they have a nice one for Captain Action only at Midtown Comics with great Murphy Anderson art. I could order one, yes, but the shipping doesn't make it worthwhile and I have no reason to order anything else as I get my regular books local. Guess I'll wait util they end up in the catalog... the same thing happened with Doctor Who and the photo covers . Those eventually showed up in Diamond previews so I could order one to my local shop.

By the way, anyone ever see the A.C.T.I.O.N. Force b/w book from the mid-80S?

Do you mean the Marvel Uk version of the Marvel GI Joe comic.

^^^ No , it was an American book from Eclipse or somebody and based on the Captain Action character.

Yeah, when I picked up issue #0, I was pretty disappointed. I thought the whole sequence with the naked Cap' in the 'bed' shoot out was pretty campy. I mean, c'mon, if you can't be successfully ambushed when your in the sack, then your hardly a modern day stud.

^^ You'd think he'd have a uzi under the pillow or something. His name is Captain Action, he should always be ready for any kind of Action.
