Amazing. And the Queen Latifah Cover Girl ad really has me rethinking my mascara. It's easy, breezy...beautiful.

Looks interesting...I'll give it a chance. Since I've never read the Graphic Novel...I won't be going in with any preconceptions.

I would recommend seeing the movie first, then reading the novel. Otherwise you'll find yourself thinking "looks cool. No way it can be half as good as the book".

Alot of Watchmen escaped me on the first read. It gets better every time, though

Boy does it, I'm on my 4th time. I just can't stop reading it. What an excellent story. For me it's all about Manhattan. What an incredible character. The more they show of him the more I'm in awe.

Hey Hec, your not far from the truth on Owl being a Bats ripoff, but Rorschach is alot more like him, with "subtile" differences.

I've only bought two TBPs in my life: Watchmen and The New Frontier. It's kinda cool how similar they are in setting the story up. Heroes can either work for the Feds, (ala Dr. Manhattan and The Comedian in the former and Supes and Wonder Woman in the latter.) or go underground (like Night Owl and Rorschach in Watchmen or Batman in New Frontier).

I've always wondered how the comic would have turned out if DC let Moore do it with the Charlton heroes as he originally proposed. But I do think that it worked out much better with his own created heroes.

Yeah, I'm glad he created his own heroes, it really set a tone, and plus, he had total control over the situations, and he really built a wonderful backstory!

                            What a wonderful backstory.............

Consider then this... Alan Moore wanted to use the Archie Superheroes at one point. Imagine that!

Watchmen is definitely a book to read. And one MUST read the supplemental text in order to truly "get it", much like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Thing is, I would read the book BEFORE watching the movie. The reason being, the book may become tedious to read after watching a fast pace visual retelling. And in becoming tedious it would become a loss to the reader.

Imagine how many new to the Alan Moore way of storytelling will be filing into bookstores upon watching a Hollywood-ized Watchmen to pick up the "Graphic Novel". They will be disappointed in the coloring, and the very dated material much like they were disappointed in "From Hell" and "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen".
