Pfah!
I'm a Batman fan, but it has been a long time since I read a Batman title. I grabbed the first few issues of Robin. Chuck Dixon was doing some great stuff, but the cover price made me drop it. I read the Birds of Prey mini-series. Same with Nightwing. Not sure if it was Will Pfieffer or editorial, but Catwoman was better before he started on it. There hasn't been anything to pull me back to Batman or Detective.
I'll second that on Geoff Johns. I'll stick with Green Lantern, and pick up Flash: Rebirth. If he sticks with The Flash, so will I.
I get the impression that Batman, along with Superman - and maybe Wonder Woman and a few other "flagship" titles - have become so iconic and part of pop culture that they're beyond the "help" of good writing. They're bogged down in gimmicks and self-parody. I'd like to see Geoff Johns take a shot at a few issues of Batman, like Paul Dini is doing over in Detective. Just a few. It might suck, but it would be something different. I might actually read it.
