You've got to take that sort of thing into account too; psychology is also part of a character.

Batman managed to knock the Hulk out with a kick to the gut way back when.

Well, if I remember correctly, during the "Hush" storyline, Batman pretty much admitted that if Superman really wanted to, he'd easily defeat Batman - probably zap him with his heat vision from a near earth orbit ("it's the only way to be sure").

I do wonder, though, how Batman would stack up against the Hulk though?

The Family Guy is the greatest show ever...of course it's the number one authority on everything.

The Family Guy show is not the yardstick to measure anything by. That alone discounts any point you are trying to make hector.

Not to be too cheesy philosophical here...but again (echoing what Scott "Random Axe" said earlier)...the fact that Superman WOULDN'T
do that is what makes him "Superman" and it's one of the big reasons
a lot of us here are fans of the "Overgrown Boy Scout".

So yeah, that makes your stance Hec---although sensible enough---
hard to rally behind, for me, personally.

This is how I look at it:
If Superman is your "dad" you don't gleefully say:
"My dad can beat up your dad" (i.e. Batman, Hulk, etc.)
---you're just proud that the guy with a great sense of morality
--who very rarely lets power corrupt him-- is your "dad"---or your "hero"
---to bring it back from the "paternal" metaphor

Spider-Man is even more blatantly tied into this theme
than Supes (With great power comes great responsibility)--
and, just like Supes, it's one of the character's most endearing qualities
---next to his organic webshooters of course.

Your post does present some solid points though.

Actually Hector, you are the one missing the point. Superman and Batman are limited by not only the physical limitations the writers place on them like Kryptonite (and batman wouldn't need Supes to give it to him) but also the moral limitations. If Luthor can kick Supes' *** issue after issue, then surely Bats could as well. The common theme is neither of them kill, so battles could and would go either way. Bruce's moral line is just a lot less clearly defined as Clark's. Clark would never "heat vision" Bruce or even do more than break a bone or two. Same way Bruce wouldn't leave Clark to die with a Kryptonite rock around his neck, but he certainly wouldn't hesitate to play on Clark's sense of justice to beat him senseless in a fight, knowing he could take it.
