Noel Neil fit the Lois mode perfectly, but Teri Hatcher edges even her out in my book....I mean c'mon, how can she not be a favourite! She kept people watching that show.

Margot Kidder without a doubt.

Yes...she was certainly not the most attractive...but her chemistry with Chris was just the most perfect thing I've ever seen on a movie screen...she was so dead one...savvy, adventurous, intrepid, etc...she was just perfectly cast.

Margot's Lois embodies what Lois should be in my mind.

Superman is a squeaky clean/clean cut "boy scout" in my eyes---
not the "fatherly/dry" version of Superman that George put forward.

So, by default, if Superman is Mr. Nice Guy idealist---Lois has to be "rough
around the edges"---gruff and even a bit wicked. Nothing wrong with her
looks reflecting that---let Wayne have the bimbo cutesy chicks.

Phyllis Coates- One hell of an actress. Gorgeous she played a no nonsense version of Lois in the First season of Superman and had one of the best screams in Hollywood....

You beat me to her . . . hot and cute, tough and no nonsense . . . she's really the golden and silver-age Lois to me.

Margot Kidder was great in S1. Cute in that movie, she came off more high-maintenance than mean. Teri Hatcher and the others recently all seem to hired on looks and ability to present "b**chy" when needed.

Coates seemed to harken back to the very early Siegel & Shuster Lois. Who was quite cruel to Clark and was very independent and determined. In fact, season 1 of the Reeves series seemed to lift from the "social avenger" Superman of the early comics and radio. She was great for that interpretation, and man, could she SCREAM.

Noell Neill was the classic Lois Lane...you could believe she was a reporter that would go after the story. of course, George Reeves' Clark Kent wasn't a total nerd either- he was a pretty normal stand-up guy, really assertive especially with Jimmy & Lois, and he didn't back down from Perry White either.

Teri Hatcher was the hottest Lois. Margot Kidder was NOT my idea of what Superman would give up his powers for- abrasive & not overly attractive.

My ultimate favorite was Margot Kidder. I finally got to meet her earlier this year at the Motor City Comic Con in Novi Michigan.
In terms of sex appeal, it's a tie between Teri Hatcher and Erica Durance.

Teri Hatcher was the HOTTEST but Noell Neil always pops into my mind's eye when you say "live action Lois". Margot Kidder's take from Superman:The Movie works for me too....it goes downhill when the love interest with Supes/Clark blossoms in "II".
