    New Watchman trailer, poster. Wow.

TOYSREVIL'S I LIKE TOYS: justice is coming to all of us. no matter what we do: watchmen poster & teaser video @ scream awards 2008

I just reread this book and I am amazed by what I'm seeing of the movie. Alan Moore is drama queen to object to this, I can't imagine a much more faithful adaptation. It's practically storyboarded with the novel.

    So exciting.

I haven't read the book yet, but I must say the trailer looks interesting. I am looking forward to seeing this. Do you think it would help to read the book first or not?? Sometimes it helps bring you up to speed on the film story, sometimes not.

Yes, I'd read the book. I'm sure it won't be neccessary to follow the movie, but it'd help understand what the movie is going for. Besides, it's a classic.

Everyone lauds Moore for his stance on movie adaptations, but I think it's really wrong of him to dismiss the movies outright before he even views them. I wonder what Jerry Siegel thought of Moore's last Superman story? Same difference.

That trailer might be better than the first one. It gives me chills. They screened the movie for the first time this week. The big uproar is that the ending is changed, so,mewhat drastically from the book.

                Falling before D.C. Comics

I believe that building in the Poster is actually D.C. Comics...

                D.C. Comics-Google Maps

Select 'A' DC Comics, Select 'Street View', then click S [South] twice, then SW [SouthWest] twice, and the building should be on your right...Pan up...

They occupy the 1st 8-10 Floors above the Ground-Level Entrance...

If you've seen the Building, you know what I'm talking about.

                If it is...

                What do you
                think it means
                ...MMMmmm

Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!

Like Howard Roark (The Fountainhead), Alan Moore will not compromise his vision at all. He never intended "Watchmen" to be anything other than a comic book. He consciously constructed it in a way that (he thought) could not be translated through any other medium. Moore doesn't need to see the movie (however well done it may be) to know that it isn't his legacy. Neither money nor friendship (with Dave Gibbons, who worked on the movie) will change his mind.

I think that is admirable. I'm still going to see "Watchmen" on opening day.

I'd guess that Jerry Siegel was more concerned with how little money he got from DC in his lifetime when he (& Joe Shuster) laid the foundation of all that came after. He was the architect of their success & got very little back.

Alan, was burned by previous movie "Translations". That's why he's so sore. I mean if someone would rewrite something I wrote, I'd be rather sore too. Yeah, I'll be there opening night for this. I can't wait to see Dr. Manhattan on the big digital screen!
