Carnage is a character that I can't stand...

As for favorite obscure....? There's a lot of 'em....for villains it's Eclipso, Calendar Man, KILLER MOTH, Signalman, Dr. Light (before he was a serial rapist ), Despero (before he got on the 'roids), Kang the Conqueror, The Enforcers, The Absorbing Man, Nightmare, Mesmero.....

Heroes? I agree with BK...Booster Gold rocks and has always been a favorite. Good to see him back in the limelight again. Blue Beetle (Ted Kord), The T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents,The Creeper, Elongated Man (moreso as a solo sleuth than as a JLA member), Firestorm (yeah he's obscure once again), Robotman, Ant-Man, Yellowjacket, Deadman, Metamorpho...

As for Captain ("Shazam!") Marvel....I like the Big Red Cheese when he's DONE RIGHT! Which hasn't been for awhile..at least since Jerry Ordway's "Power of Shazam" series.

I think the green and white suit was Kree-issued and when Captain Mar-Vell broke away from the Kree he got the new suit, plus he went all "cosmic awareness" around the same time...

I don't much care for Wolverine or the Punisher, at least not after they ran them into the ground from overuse. They were ok at first, the early B&W Punisher tales were good. Venom is also way overused, and currently the Hulk is on his way to that point.

Greatest character of all time is the Golden Age Greeen Lantern, period.

Yup...that's another one I don't like. Stewart is just a plain, old, uninteresting Character.

I agree on John Stewart...so why does Mattel insist on sticking him in like, just about every JLU three-pack?

                    Hmmmm....

I tend to dislike whatever character I'm being bludgeoned with at any given time, so right now I'm, REALLY sick of Batman.

                    For fave obscure characters? Howzabout:

DC: Space Cabbie. Angel O'Day and Sam Simeon. Starfire (the first one, not the Titan.) Claw the Unconquered.
MARVEL: Strong Guy. Everyone from Damage Control.
EVERYONE ELSE: Sir Real (From Electric Fear.) Fatty Tubbins (From Army Surplus Comix.) Ron and Russ. (ARE the Post Bros obscure?) Hap Hazzard and Tricky. (From 2000AD.) Gedda (From Tank Vixens.)

                    Don C.

I am not really into comic books, so I was going to hold off on this thread. I loved the comics as a kid, and would still read them but I never know where to start. It's like jumping into that show 24 or Lost in the middle of the season it seems like you can't really catch up. Also I see them do stupid stuff with characters I really like.

I agree with CTC, that I am weary of the over marketing. Having Batman, Ironman and Hulk crammed down my throat for months takes something away from it for me. And I really like all three of them, nomally.

I am not a huge Captain Marvel fan, and I don't care much for the John Stewart GL either. Not the character himself, but the way they developed his personality in JLU. He basically doesn't have one. Boring.

I tend to like obscure villians, and heros. I think my imagination fills in the gaps on how I percieve them. It seems like some of these guys are fine until they get more developed, then I care less about them.
"Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."

No thanks...I'll pass...Vixen is a C-lister to me, at best...and doesn't belong on the JLA IMO...yeah maybe during JLA Detroit but the whole team sucked then. Why have her when you can have Animal Man, who is much cooler IMO.

JLA always needed more women, I like animalman in the space stories but Vixen adds something. my opinion

i will never say i dont like the hulk but he is overated i mean he has been on all over marvel products for 35+years and the hulk doesn't have rogues gallery like spidey, ff, or the x-men. the leader, wendigo, abomination i think are good characters tho.
