I chose two designs but wonder if there are more:

    Carmine Infantino

    Neal Adams

I am missing the boat? Is there somebody else they should consider?
Now that must have cost a bundle. If I may ask how did your friend pull this off? I know alot of people that would like to do the same thing. But the $$$ has always been too much. Unless that has changed. PM me please.

I would have to go with Adams/Aparo/Giordano look too. That is THE Batman as far as I'm concerned. The only problem is the people at DC don't know who Adams/Aparo/Giordano are. I'm not kidding. I spoke with Jason Adams; Neal's son, at a show a couple years ago. The people running the DC are clueless.

When i think of Batman. Bob Kane's original version comes to mind and I love Alex Ross's version of the Dark Knight.

Don Newton had an excellent style. His Aquaman stories in WF were beautifully drawn and the few issues I have with him on Batman are more of the same.

I also quite liked Mike Golden's version.

                      Hmmmm....

Bronze age Aparo. Kind of a stripped down design that has similarieties to every version. 4-colour enough for the old OLD school fans, and has just enough menace to not alienate the "dark 'n gritty" crowd.

To me. It is the long ears and the blue costume. Neal Adams takes the cake. Black knight (Jason) did a Neal Adams styled custom that was pretty jaw dropping!

When I think Batman I tend to visualize Adams' version.

Me too. Mind you, these are the ones I had as a kid so they've been read a few dozen times and are rather abused.

My Mom gave me Batman from the 30s to the 70s one year for Xmas. I've read every story countless times and it's still in quite nice shape. That's got some great art in it. No Golden though. The same Xmas she got me the Batman Encylopedia as a companion piece. Still have that as well. Great information in it.

Absolutely - more than any other version, that's The Batman.

Well, Paul Levitz (the President & Publisher) has been at DC since Adams, Aparo and Giordano were drawing Batman, and he certainly knows who they are. Neal's son might be a little biased.

HUGE props for mentioning the late, great Don Newton and Michael Golden. Don Newton did a fantastic Batman, and while it's not my favorite, it's still classic. Golden is great too.
