I used to have a whole whack off two gun kid and kid colt as well as rawhide and tex dawson.I love those old westerns. No new ones out there to collect right now except lone ranger and jonah hex.Congrats the Covers were awesome back then.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!” -
I believe Marvel put out a few one shot specials like a year or two ago, I rember seeing KID COLT on the news stand but i always passed it by and grabed Jonah Hex instead, With the new Jonah Hex and Lone Ranger titles only selling so-so i dout MARVEL will relaunch there westerns chacters or do a MASTERWORKS archives which is a shameComment

Truly a shame the age of the western is passing I'm afraid.I love them so much nothing like a great western story to pass the time.
I had heard about a rawhide kid movie a couple years back but it got tied up in court or something?
They are working on a Jonah hex movie so that is cool. But I sure would like to see marvel bring back the westerns.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

Marvel destoryed the Rawhide kid years ago with that mini series which left you wondering is he or isn't he gay, The Jonah Hex movie in away was releashed back in the 70s titled THE OUTLAW JOSIE WALES which IMHO is the last of the good hollywood westernsComment

I read a mini series a few years back called "blaze of glory" it had four of marvels old western heroes on one last ride together it was pretty good most of them died though.
Josie was an excellent film.
I think there has been a few good westerns since then though.
Unforgiven
silverado
the last outlaw
tombstone
3:10 to yuma
young guns
just to name a few.Well a few I enjoyed anyways.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

And here i thought i was the only one who brought Blaze of GloryBut sad to say the only two western books out today is Jonah Hex which is a great read and Lone Ranger which has been decent so-far but if you want a good western tale pick up a Louis L'amour novel

I am missing issue one of blaze of glory but I have the other three...LOL
You truly are a western fan...LOL
I agree Jonah and the Ranger thats all thats going on right now.
Actually I have just started reading "The Man with No Name"
Comic series based off the eastwood character from the movies(good, bad and ugly)
It's not bad up to issue three right now and they have eluded to an appearance by tuco so it may get better.Check it out I say.The art is decent enough and the story is predictable but so far pretty good.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Who put's out MAN WITH NO NAME? somehow that escaped under my radar, Wish DC would bring back Scalp Hunter instead of BatLash never liked BatLash myself, By the way my dad was a western nut never turned of a John Wayne movieSo that's how i grew to like westerns as a kid between Gunsmoke and the Duke and Eastwood and WILD WILD WEST on the bright side he never said no when i wanted a best of the west figure wish i kept them

Dynamite comics is doing the man with no name series. It escaped my radar as well I hopped on at issue three and had to hunt out issues one and two.My dad also brought me up on the mighty western movies. To this day he calls me to tell me if a cool western is on TV.It's kind of cool actually.Last edited by fallensaviour; Sep 12, '08, 8:00 AM.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”.
