Rundown of DC films from Newsarama

Newsarama.com : TRYING TO MAKE SENSE OF DC'S FILM PROJECTS

I gotta say, that Supermax movie doesn't sound too good to me. As much as I love Goyer's work on the Batman films, I don't want to see a movie where generic super hero gets put in prison and they just happen to put Green Arrow in that slot. I'd much rather see WB spin GA off of Smallville into his own weekly series next year. It's so obvious it will never happen though.

Some of these have been gestating for years. They may get pushed ahead now, but how many years has the Shazam movie been rolling around with Peter Segal attached as director?

DC/Warner aren't ready to capitalize on the success of DK. Marvel's movies were planned out better to build on the audience of Spider-Man.

Yeah,.. I dunno. When WB Wants to spend 135 million on the Pile that was Speed Racer,.. you wonder where thier heads are ,.. & I'll give you a hint,.. it doesn't seem as if they are in Comicbooks.

Having WB and DC comics being "related" is actually not a good thing in this situation....Warner Bros' execs have NO FREAKIN' IDEA how to handle these properties.

The cool thing about Marvel is they're doing their own thing and don't have to answer to a parent company who also happen to be in the movie biz. They know their product and their audience and seem to have some good stuff on deck. Whereas the WB and DC have put their collective heads (up their arses) together to come up with "Super Max"....

If it were not for Ledger's Death,.. the Dark Knight would have never made the Money it did at the Box Office. Maybe 250 Million ,.. & they'ed Be lucky. DC Need'ed to ***** its properties out like Marvel Did,.. it's the only way imo,.. will we start seeing somemore DC Comicbook films,.. & Faster.

Super Max sounds like a good concept, it'll be villain oriented, with Ollie having to use his wits to get out of there. I don't think its the right followup to DK, tho. It should be the Flash or GL.

If Megan Gale can actually act, she would be a fine Wonder Woman. I've never seen her in anything, so I can't say that she can. To hold a movie, you must be able to act, not just look the part. Look at the 80s Lone Ranger movie.

If it were not for Ledger's Death,.. the Dark Knight would have never made the Money it did at the Box Office. Maybe 250 Million ,.. & they'ed Be lucky. I have to disagree on that. I think Ledger's death was a factor in the early days of the release. The morbidly curious who had no interest in a Batman movie probably saw it early. The continued success is from repeat viewings and great word of mouth. It didn't hurt that while Batman Begins take was good but fairly modest, it got great word of mouth after it's DVD release and had big sales.

well dark knight was the best movie i've seen in years and with watchmen coming out in march i think dc is doing a great job. i think marvel needs to step it up. i mean rise of the silver surfer was to quote the comic book guy " worst movie ever!"

agreed, but the preacher series on hbo sounds promising.
