Mego superman on a 1973 Kresge card. Bubble firmly attached, but the emblem is adhered to the outside of the bubble. The emblem must have slid out from the standard space at feet and the previous owner must have stuck it to the outside of the bubble . The card is in great shape with some bowing . Unpunched and no litho tears

For your consideration is one of the holy grails of Mego collecting. They need no introduction. Pete, Bruce, Dick and Clark are here in all of their splendor. If you are viewing this auction you most certainly are familiar with them and know all about this particular set. For those that do not, this is the very set photographed for the Mego reference "Mego 8" Super-Heroes: World's Greatest Toys" book. Some of the more well known names in the hobby have owned this set at one time or another. You will not find a nicer, mintier or more complete set on the planet. Everything looks like it is fresh out of the box and includes the boxes and baggies. It breaks my heart to even think about selling this set as it is one of the centerpieces of my collection and can be of yours. I will post additional detailed photos of everything over the weekend. Up for is Superman from the Worlds Greatest Superheroes line. Superman is complete and 100% original in great condition and comes with the very rare elusive large "S" chest sticker and skinny boots. Only some of the initial Supermans produced in solid boxed and first release Kresge style cards came with this larger sized chest sticker before it was replaced with the smaller common size seen on most Supermans. In addition to this rare variation, the figure is superb condition and displays awesome. The pictures below clearly show how nice the condition is. The suit is the correct stirrup feet, sewn sleeve, and nylon trunks version. The outfit has no holes, runs, loose seams, or snags. The snaps are firmly attached to the outfit. The belt and cape are still attached to the outfit and the cape has very slight edge fraying that can be seen. There are a few black marks on the back of the cape that can be seen in the pictures and may be removed if tried. The outfit has a beautiful blue color with the early thicker ribbed material. The skinny boots are very nice with no cracks, splits, or holes. There are slight dents at the back of the heel as shown, but common with skinny boots due to the tight fit. The chest sticker is very nice without any tears, or rips, but does have some wear that can be seen below. The head has the correct brighter flesh tone for early release figures and is in great condition with the slightest bit of paint wear on the hair that can be seen below. The T1 body is very tight with no broken or loose limbs and can hold any pose he is supposed to. This displays great and would be a great addition to any collection. Figure is sold as-is, so please ask as many questions you want before bidding and before the auction ends. The detailed description and large pictures leave little for interpretation.

1970's Mego Superman action figure from the World's Greatest Superhero line on early Kresge card. Card has only four heroes on the header. Figure is in mint condition having never been removed from his plastic bubble. Packaging is in amazing high grade condition. Bubble has no dents or damage but does have a minor manufacturing flaw under right foot as seen in pictures. Card has great color and is nice and flat and unpunched. Wow, does this bring back memories! This Superman is the fifth version of the first six Superman action figures issued by Mego. It is a #1300 card type, dated 1973 and marked Mego, Made in the British Colony of Hong Kong. This was old store stock; the card is shop-worn and somewhat dirty, bearing some price sticker residue. What makes this carded figure a bit odd, however, is that it left the factory without the iconic "S" emblem on its outfit. The blister card has never been lifted to allow the emblem to be attached. When a kid saw this, he'd surely notice the missing "S" ...a factory mistake. This is probably why this one wasn't sold! There is a small dent (but not a split) in the blister plastic above the figure's head which could probably be bent back. Don't pass up this chance to acquire an odd version of this classic Mego figure! Thanks for looking!
