    My first total sculpt.

Had such a hard time doing faces I figured I'd go with something a little more extreme.

Started as a block of Sculpey III. Teeth are all individual and fitted em into the gum line before baking, the tongue too was cut and then fit in. Wanted to go longer but just looked too fragile when I did.

Built on a FC body which is normally a no-no for me, but he didn't look right on a Hulk body and just needed to be bigger than the regular Mego Spidey.

Coated the suit with fabric paint to give it that "alien symbiote look". Tried to keep the chest logo with a "rough" look for the same reason. Used some of the movie costume pics for reference and liked the effect and tried to duplicate that. Might go with a coat of 3D fabric paint for even more "symbiotic" detail.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

Definately an excellent first try! But the Head might be a little big for the Body though.

Ugliest Venom I've ever seen (that is a compliment)

Great job on the sculpt - that emblem was a booger wasn't it? I think every customizer ought to have to try that emblem at some point.

Especially trying to get that "hey I'm actually a living alien effect" The movie look was kinda a blend between the white and black but not grey, just kinda black bleeding through without blending together. Played with it a couple of times being really careful and then just kinda slapped one style on quick and kinda got what I wanted. It was one of those things where it's like organized hysteria. Being neat and careful didn't really get the result I wanted.

                          NEAT!

That's right-on the early appearances! The weird lloking suit is a great idea, too.

I have problems with some faces too; so I keep a stock of resin heads. Some filing and a little putty work saves me a lot of trial and error.

...and for a longer tongue I'd run a wire from the mouth and build the tongue over it. It'll reinforce the putty.

                          Don C.

Looks good for a first time scupt. I to have just started dabbling in sculpting when I am not catching up here at the Museum. Sculpting is fun. I like to be able to sculpt my own stuff for those OOAK projects. I like to think of it is as just like riding a bike. The more one does it the better one gets at it over time. Hang in there and keep on sculpting!
