Say, you remember Johnny Thunder and his Thunderbolt from the Golden Age of Comics (those first words are an in-joke for old time fans)? Wanted to make sure I could make a decent Thunderbolt before going forward with Johnny himself, but I went back and forth between making a bodysuit and stuffing the lightning bolt at the bottom and just sculpting it solid. In the end, I figured he didn’t wear a costume, it was his magical body, so I went with the sculpting. I used standard Mego body parts and cut out the lightning bolt shape from poster board to attach to his posterior, then used Apoxy Sculpt to sculpt and fill it out. The lightning bolts on the arms and head were cut from an action figure bubble, and the head is from a glow-in-the-dark modern Mego Dracula (the repurposed Romulan head). The torso is completely solid, but the arms and head still have full Mego articulation.
