Well, after being influenced by fellow Wisconsin customizer, david_b. I decided to look around my shop and see if I could put together a Dr. Pym figure. I originally was going to do Yellow Jacket but then decided to go with "Giant-Man".
I talked offline with one of my customizer heroes, Alberto Malnati. He gave me some advice on coloring lycra material without making the suit stiff. His ideas came out perfect. My Giant-Man is very movable and his no issues with being too stiff from coloring the material.
I wanted Giant-Man to be big, but not too big. I was originally going to go with a 12" Superman mego body I had laying around but I decided I wanted to capture Giant-Man at a fair size. So I used a Famous Covers body that I also used to make Atom Smasher last year. When my daughter plays with Giant-man, she'll have to use her imagination that he is growing (or shrinking depending on how you play with Dr. Pym.)
I basically made this figure as a surprise for my daughter who mentioned awhile back that I needed more Avengers. She hasn't seen him yet because she has been busy all day. The whole figure is kid friendly for her to play with!
So here he is, Giant-Man. (Remember, the keyword is "kid friendly" not "comic book like".)
(the head looks crooked when I shot him straight on. His head leans to one side. It is how the famous covers Parker head is when you slap it on a bigger body. The lines are not uneven. It just came out that way when I snapped the picture. Everything is perfectly straight on the mask. Not sure why it looks like this.)
