    Kneel Before Zod!

Sorry, couldn't resist, even though he's actually the classic comic book Silver/Bronze Age Zod. Made from a Star Trek Body with re-sculpted boots (subsequently covered with material), a Daddy Warbucks head from the old Annie movie dolls, and a cap from Classic TV toys.

Wow, that's brilliant. Love the use of Daddy Warbucks! I saw one at an antique mall a few weeks back and wondered about using him for Luthor, but he makes a great comic Zod!

I actually did use him for my Luthor. Only downside is that Annie's daddy has no neck, so you have to do some tweaking to make him work with a Mego body. The scale is just about perfect, though. Miss Hannigan's head is also Mego compatible (and much easier to use). We do have a dearth of good, bald Mego human type heads. Big Daddy here, the Mattel retro figure Lex and the boxer from Mattel's Real Men line (based on Dr. Steel) are the only ones I can think of that work well. The FTC Challenge of the SF Lex is okay, but no whites in the eyes means you have to do some painting, and the Lex from the Superboy wave has huge noggin syndrome (a shame, as the sculpt is quite good). It's a challenge with something like the Phantom Zone villains, as the three males I want to make are all showing off their scalps. Hair must have been unpopular among Krypton's male criminals...

That really came sweet, nice upgrading on the boots and the Warbucks head works well too, love the outfit and upgraded cap.
          Did you make the clothes?

Delightful. Love the fabric covered boots! And you did a spot on job matching the paint on the hat with the color of your materials.

Yes, I pretty much always make the costumes from scratch on these. Only time I really use existing clothing is on kit-bashes like the Star Raiders re-dos or the Apes with the Classic TV toys outfits. I do think of them differently; I consider the ones where I actually make most of the costume a custom, but I refer to the pieced together figures as kit-bashes, even though technically, they're all customs. Just the way I perceive them, I guess.

Yeah, light purple can wind up with a LOT of different shades as you mix colors, as I definitely discovered here.

It's great to see this classic version so well-crafted. Nice also to see the Warbucks head up close--I like it and need to use it for someone besides a Silver-Age Luthor.

Suggestions? To my eye, it has a bit of a smug expression.
