Luv the printed muscles! That is the first time I've ever seen such a thing. It really works. Very inspiring. -
I designed the black wing pattern in Adobe Illustrator and, using the process of dye-sublimation, printed it out and simultaneously heat-pressed it onto both sides of some yellow fabric. I then cut them out and attached them using thin strips of double-sided transparent tape.
Originally, I had aspirations to sew them into the seams of the under-arms, but then I would not be able to get the belt around the waist. I could also have sewn them on in a similar fashion to the Mego Falcon (which was the premise for the design of the wings), but I chose the tape route instead.
Thanks for asking!Last edited by megowgsh; Dec 25, '16, 9:52 AM.Leave a comment:

looks terrific.looking at doctor doom reminds it was one of the first mego customs I've ever done at nine or so years old.i put aluminum foil over iron mans head, gloves and boots and had some green fabric from somewhere.i recall it being not a bad attemptLeave a comment:

My god those are GORGEOUS, fantastic job!! That head sculpt is perfect, the ankle wings ingenious, and the outfits on both versions as Mego like as it gets. Your Doom is spot on as well and is exactly how I'd picture mego doing him. As good as all your customs are, these are possibly your best. Just fantastic.Leave a comment:

Looks great! How did you attach the ankle wings? And what are the big wings made of? Are they flexible?Leave a comment:

The Savage Sub-Mariner: Prince Namor Wishes You and Yours a Very Merry Christmas!
During his fight with Orka, Namor accidentally crashes into an old navy ship, which contains nerve gas canisters. The canisters explode, putting all of the Atlanteans into a coma (including Orka and Virago, but not Namorita, Tamara Rahn, or the Amphibians) and causing problems for Namor's physiology as well (specifically, it prevents him from breathing air). Reed Richards builds a suit that helps Namor with these problems, resulting in a new costume for the Sub-Mariner.
Prince Namor: the Savage Sub-Mariner is built on an original LJN swivel-arm body; head is a shrink from a Namor statue by Hard Hero with paints by me; cuffs and belt from CTVT; ankle wings from Laser Mego; trident from a Marvel Legends Fist Appearance action figure; Namor suit by yours truly.
Namor thanking the Fantastic Four for saving his life...
Two issues later the Savage Sub-Mariner decides to battle Spider-Man...
Prince Namor: the Savage Sub-Mariner vs Mego SOS Spider-man...
The Savage Sub-Mariner series was discontinued with issue 72 but the story continues in Marvel Super Villain Team-Up where he joins forces with Doctor Doom...
My custom Mego Dr. Doom with Savage Sub-Mariner...
My custom Namor in his traditional shorts and my custom Prince Namor: the Savage Sub-Mariner...
I hope you enjoy my customs as much as I do, and, as always, thanks for looking!
Peace, Love, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
