Valkyrie of the Defenders -- Silk Screen Suit Super-gal

The Valkyrie first appeared as a guise of the Enchantress in The Avengers #83 (December 1970) and was created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema but truly found her home when writer Steve Englehart and artist Sal Buscema put the Valkyrie's essence into another mortal woman, Barbara Norriss, in The Defenders #4 and had the character join the group as a longtime member. The Valkyrie remained a member of the Defenders through most of the series' run and was apparently killed when the series ended with issue #152 (Feb. 1986).







So, in the tradition of the Mego Silk Screen Suit Super-gals I present to you my custom Valkyrie in her third outfit.

She is built on an original Mego female body; suit and cape by me; sword from CTVT; and Charlie's Angels Farrah Fawcett head masterfully braided by the one, and only, Bizarro Amy. I know the head is a tad big, but I absolutely had to make Farrah Fawcett Valkyrie. Could you image a cross-over with her teaming up with Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman? A pubescent boy's dream in the late 1970s.

Your work flatters the comic art. Perfect choice on the Farrah head. Curious if you may have considered attempting the head & costume on a Mattel body, because it's a bit taller, & the head perspective may synch up quite well with the superhero's veritable size & height. Moreover, this is some of your best creativity yet. Extremely well done, & nice ensemble with the team.

fantastic looking figure ,i've never seen her done in that costume before.you will have to give me tips on platting hair i used a rubber band on mine and it looks a right state.

Looking good Austin! Defenders are one of the best non teams in the Marvel Universe, Loved how the members came and went, but it was the Valkyrie that was there through most of the run, great job! I have every issue of the Defenders comics, one of my favorite reads back in the day!
