Madman has always been a favorite of mine. He came just at the right time for me in the 90's. I was pretty weary of what was going on in the comics scene at the time with all the big guns, pouches and mullets. Madman stood out above all the rest to me as something really sincere and fun without all the clichéd darkness.
Frank Einstein, The Madman of Snap City!

Head is from a Graphitti 8" action figure cast and painted by me
Body is a Zica Type S with upgraded limbs
Jumpsuit, gloves & boots CTVT
Gun is modified from the 8" Super Store's "Spy Gun"
Yo-yo is made by me
Box by The Toyroom

This is the first head that I cast myself in quite sometime. I picked up a molding/casting kit from Hobby Lobby at 40% off. Worked out pretty well. A few air holes underneath the chin, nothing too bad. I might get a pressure tank in the future to avoid this.

The head was easy to paint. It just needed to be a clean job so I spent quite a bit of time making sure it was flawless before painting. I added a neck plug but in all honesty the Graphitti head will fit without any modification on a Zica body and is designed to be removed from the figure without taking it apart.

The gun was modified to look like Madman's "disk shooter". I had it in the parts bin for quite some time. It seems to be scaled for a 12" figure so I really didn't have any use for it until Madman came along.

The yo-yo was made from found items at the craft store. The elastic cord gives it some playabilty... bleh.

The gloves are from CTVT and were cut down and dyed blue. The boots were cut as well but came in black.
Madman's costume, for all its simplicity is a tough one to figure out. I'm not sure where it begins and ends. I tried to replicate the "seam" around the waist with some sheet styrene glued on to the lower waist and painted flesh color. It's very subtle and really doesn't show up in the photos all that well. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't bother.

The Graphitti Designs Madman action figure is very nice but not Megoey enough for me these days. I've had him on a shelf in my library for nearly 20 years. I'm not sure why he's turning yellow, he was kept out of the sun and I don't smoke.

Madman's "Mr. Excitement" logo was made from some cosplay fabric they sell at Jo-Anns. It's kinda rubbery and cuts well. It's held on with adhesive fabric sheet. The logo seems to change every time the character is drawn. Fortunately Anthony from The Toyroom's artwork on his box matched my reference material even though he did the box back in 2015.

Frank Einstein's girlfriend Joe, is the girlfriend most comic book geeks always wished for back in the 90's. Joe would never wind up dead in a refrigerator. Allred has too much class for that. She will probably be my first female custom at some point.

Thanks for looking!
