Victor Von Doom has been on the back burner ever since I bought the head cast from Dr. Cyclops two years ago but, after assembling my Fantastic Four late last fall I made sure their arch-nemesis was on my list of customs to finish in 2016.

Like many, Doctor Doom is not only my favorite Fantastic Four villain but, one of my favorite Marvel villains. That fondness for the Latverian tyrant began in 1978 when I had gotten the "Bring On The Bad Guys" hardcover for Christmas. And, that's when I noticed my Mego collection did not have a Doctor Doom. My seven-year old brain just could not comprehend why Mego didn't make a figure of Doctor Doom (or Red Skull or Loki for that matter). It's good to know that I wasn't the only one that was feeling that way.

And, it certainly feels great to finally have a Mego Doctor Doom in my collection .

Great work John! I like the paints on the head, well done. It really looks like metal. The gold on the belt is a nice touch too.

I still have my well worn copy of "Bring On The Bad Guys" from my childhood. Time to dig that bad boy out!

Great paints for Doom. looks like you went for the "no visible skin" look. I alway preferred that more than the 80's revision.

Nice work on Doom, John. Heck, my 52 year old brain still can't figure out why MEGO didn't put out a Doom figure; seems like it would've been a no-brainer since they also did the Lizard and Green Goblin. Great group shot of the bad Doctor and his arch-nemeses. Just need to add a shot of Benjy giving Doom a good roundhouse punch and yelling "It's Clobberin' Time!"
