Toyman is a legacy name used by several characters, primarily enemies of Superman in Metropolis. Designing numerous deadly toys as weaponry, he is a sociopathic mechanical genius. He has been involved with the Injustice League, Legion of Doom, Secret Society of Super-Villains and Superman Revenge Squad. There have been several versions, although it has been implied that some of them were life-like robots created by the original and good enough to fool Superman. There have also been several similar or related characters such as Dollmaker, Toyboy, Toymaker, and Toymaster. Toyman was created by Don Cameron and Ed Dobrotka, first appearing in Action Comics #64. (1943)
The most often seen Toyman is the rotund, older-man version who is always wearing some sort of three-piece suit and spectacles. As is the case in these pictures:

They are the inspiration for my version of this incarnation. Toyman is built on a Mego Type 2 fat body; Mego Joker shoes; repro Paul Revere head from the Revolutionary Heroes line back in the '70s with paints by me; glasses from a George Burns doll; suit by me; and coat by the one and only Hawkmike.

The most iconic version for my generation has to be the Toyman from Challenge of the Super Friends...

...and here he is in a rare comic book appearance...

This version is built on an original Mego Type 2 body; head from Jim Hampton; paints and suit by me; belt and boots from CTVT

A more modern version of Toyman was in fact just THAT: a "Toy" Man! From the JLU series Toyman was a walking talking ventriloquist figure:

When I originally saw this take on the Toyman I immediately thought of my all-time favorite ventriloquist figure: Willie from Twilight Zone. So when BBP released him in Mego form a short-while back my mission was clear: Willie is to be the Toyman from JLU!
This Toyman is a repro Willie head with paints by me on an original Mego Our Gang Spanky body; suit by me; original Mego Our Gang Alfalfa shoes.

and last, but not least, is a custom I posted a few weeks ago of the Dollmaker verison of Winslow Schott. You can see the original thread here: http://megomuseum.com/community/show...er-Powers-Show

Group shot!

I hope you enjoy my customs as much as I do, and, as always, thanks for looking!
Peace, Love, and Megos!
