It would be in 1995 that a famous comic superhero would arguably get the greatest costume upgrade of all-time.
Following the events of the “Prodigal” storyline in the Batman comic book, Nightwing (a.k.a. Dick Grayson, the original Robin) received a self-titled mini-series wherein the character received a costume and design makeover. While the series was illustrated by Greg Land, the new costume and prop designs were created by Brian Stelfreeze.
From the blue stripe extending down to his fingers, to his escrima sticks, to his gauntlet storage space, Stelfreeze’s design lasted until Dick exchanged the mask for the cowl and became Batman.
Here are Stelfreeze's model sheets:

And an early image:

And the iconic cover to Nightwing #1:

My Nightwing is built on an original Mego Type 2 body with black CTVT hands; head is an enlargement of a DC Direct Nightwing action figure; wrist gauntlets are reproductions of those found on a Famous Covers Black Widow action figure cast in black; CTVT boots; suit by me; and all paints by me.

Battling my custom Two-Face and custom Bane...

Dick Graysons are we!

Such a simple costume and custom, but, in my opinion, one of the most powerful to ever have been designed.
The suit I made is my first experimentation in using colored fabrics with my printing process. At times, printing on white material can make the colors look a little faded when it is stretched. Nightwing is black printed on blue fabric. The blue will never look faded when stretched and the black, when stretched, will not appear to fade because of the dark-colored base. I have been experimenting with various colors most of which you can see on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/megowgshcustoms
I hope you enjoy my customs as much as I do, and, as always, thanks for looking!
Peace, Love, and Megos!
