I'm keeping the original line art as-is, so if a coloring book is what you want, a coloring book you shall have, complete with a full color PAINTED cover. I think that's a great idea!

I have to agree with Scott on the whole dot thing; I think it looks better with a smooth color. I think the only way you could get the dot pattern to be successful would be to literally translate the four color printing process to an electronic version; that is one screen of black dots, one screen of cyan, one of magenta and one of yellow. You'd have to overly them with one another, finding the right percentage of each color and then offset each screen by 35 degrees to give you that true, old-school printed look.
