This Sunday is the season 5 premiere of HBO's "Game of Thrones."
So while I haven't quite finished work on Wave 9 (slacker), I thought I would share these updates to some old favorites I did using parts from the recently released Dark Horse statues.
Robb: Replaced the head, added the screen accurate sword, dagger (hard to see in this pic), and sheath.
Tyrion: Replaced the head, added the leather "skirt" and removable dagger. Made him a book to carry, since Tyrion says, "My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer and I have my mind...and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge."
Jaime: This one was the biggest transformation. I really wanted to more authentically capture the show's Kingsguard armor. So I completed gutted the armor, sword, sheath, etc. from the Dark Horse statue and reworked. Added cloth cape, under "skirt", and mail sparkle suit. The body is a CTVT highly modified to fit the armor, with homemade swivel biceps and pegs for accepting boots and gloves. The Dark Horse statue's head is a great likeness, but looks a tad undersized next to a standard Mego, so I stuck with the BBP Flash Gordon head.
If you want to see the "before" shots, or any of my other Game of Thrones customs completed so far, check out my Photobucket.
