I thank everyone for the kind comments and for looking at the pics.
Yes, the head is from the Mattel Lex Luther. I used Jacquard iDye for Polyester/Nylon, color Blue, to dye the head. It came out almost black :ugh. I then lightened the color by soaking the head in a solution of water and Arm & Hammer laundry detergent for a week. (I think the Turquoise color would have yield a more desirable color and less work in retrospect.) I used store brand, Pearl Paint, gold color acrylic paint, because it was less expensive, for the eyes. Pearl Paint in NYC is no longer in business. I am quite sure any acrylic paint would work.
The suit is a Castaway Blue suit. ( I wished Distinctive Dummies would have some suits for sale soon.) I used Uchida 510-6F Black Fabric Marker for the Chest Design. I also used regular masking tape to help "draw" the design on the chest. Surprising the ink did not bleed beyond the taped areas. I used a small piece of paper towel on the back of the suit to limit any ink bleeding.
The cape is from a beat up red t-shirt that I cleaned, of course. The basic skeleton of the cape and hood is from "Captain Dunsel's Mego Madhouse site under the "Collar Cape Design." ( I thank you Mr. James Brady for providing this information to everyone.) I used trail and error with the size before I settled with posted one. (I'm still not fully satisfied with the size....the collar is too big.) (I'll take another shot at this when I become less frustrated with myself.) I drew the border of the cape using DecoFabric Opaque Fabric Markers Yellow and the mentioned Uchida 510 markers.
The hands and wrist guards are from CTVT. The sash is a 1/8 inch yellow ribbon I purchase from Michaels. The Amulet is from 8inch Superstore. Unfortunately they seem to have sold out of the red and yellow medallion.
I hope this helps a bit.
I thank everyone again for the nice comments and for looking.Comment
