Hobgoblin -- showcasing my amalgam CTVT Goblin boots
I am breaking my own rule of "posting only one custom per week", but I am so excited about how these new boots turned out and my FB friend Bill White posted an old photo of my Goblin customs on Facebook I thought maybe it was a sign.
So I never felt like I had the right boots for my Hobgoblin custom and I didn't want to destroy an original pair of Mego Green Goblin boots so I just used a pair of orange CTVT tall pirate boots for him.
To my delight, CTVT has recently released reproduction GG boots in various colors:
I bought a white pair, cut off the cuffs from the tall pirate boots, fitted them together, and painted them orange. And here is the final result:
The goblin boots took the paint like a champ; the pirate boots not so much. It is obvious they are made from different plastics. A couple of coats is definitely needed. Here is the paint I used:
I think they came out great! They totally make the figure as if I had made a completely brand-new custom. So I give to you, in public for the very first time (again): Hobgoblin!
Here he is battling Spider-Man for position on his goblin glider...
And just for giggles and grins, here he is against my traditional backdrop along with some of his contemporaries in goblin flight...
...and the gangs all here
