My custom General Lee car for the 8" Mego Dukes figures!!!

I like it as is, it has the Mego charm, like you mentioned with the Batmobile and others where sometimes it seemed Mego said "that's close enough, its a kids toy"

I remmber tha RC Genral Lee, and around the same time Wall Mart had an RC Gran Torino in light blue that was the same scale and would have made an awesome Starsky and Hucth car, a tad bit small but closer in scale than the one mego made. Both would take a lot of work to get figures inside of them though. I really like the simpler approach you used.

Thanks again guys! And these Gay Toy Cars are so awesome for them,..simple yet effective ALA Mego would have done them back then! Will take more pics along side the 8" Dukes and Mego Batmobile for comparison (when I get back from vacation).

That car is awesome in my opinion. I can think of a few people in the museum that would flip for it. If you ever make a few extras I am sure they would sell. I would buy one for sure.

would be a cool idea for Sheriff Roscoe police car.

More than a Mego, vibe, what I love about this is the Empire van/helicopter feel to it - a lower budget accessory pout out by another company. Feels like the kind of thing that's maybe less right for the company, but perfectly represents the market at the time!

First off - I freaking love the way your car came out! It has the mego Charm and it fits the figures perfect. - I totally love it - Fantastic job!

also I have bought a few of these different cars and trucks from Gay Toys Inc. that are in different stages of completion. I have a pick up truck that I'm redoing to make it look like the fall guy.
I also bought the Dune Buggy as I want to make a Speed Buggy out of.

NICE! Yes, Mego would have never futzed with the details. It's kind of surprising Mego never revived the S&H Torino for the General, honestly.

I did have an "ALMOST" Mego scale blow mold General for my 8" Dukes as a kid. It was actually in scale, and looked like the Charger, but the roof was pretty short, and it was hard to put the figures in and out. But I used it!
