Hail Hydra! Hail Red Skull!
With Christmas a few weeks away my weekends will be extremely busy so, this will probably be the last custom I finish for 2014.
I have wanted to make a Red Skull for awhile and I was on the fence about doing a classic version like megoknight's or one of the sweet variants that Austin has done. And, then, in late August I got an email from Sideshow Collectables advertising an upcoming Red Skull from the movie and when I saw it, I knew I had to try and duplicate it the best I could. I just loved the color palette they were using on the figure.
So, I began planning his build and acquiring the parts and fabric, the only component that was proving to be difficult to find was the head but, Deadpool Customs had a Hugo Weaving Red Skull head sculpt listed on Ebay so I snatched it up. Then over Thanksgiving weekend I sewed up the gray suit with its red trim as well as painted up the head, hands, hat and belt. And, yes, the buttons on his suit jacket are 3mm hot fix studs
Red Skull is made on a Type S body, the trenchcoat, hat and belt are from CTVT, the boots and German Luger are from Doc Mego. The final touch(es) were provided by the awesome Paul Wasson at LaserMego who made the Hydra patch decals. Thanks Paul!!!
