The Vulture - Enemy of Spider-Man as portrayed by Raniero "Blackie" Drago

My favorite version of the Vulture, probably because of the 1967 Animated Spider-Man series.

    The back-story:

Raniero "Blackie" Drago, was a prison cellmate of Adrian Toomes' who tricked Toomes by causing an accident in the prison workshop that made Toomes think he could die soon, and stole the Vulture harness and costume which was recently rebuilt. He used the suit to make money through air piracy which ended up in a three-way battle against Spider-Man and Kraven the Hunter — Kraven resented Drago's claims that he'd recently killed Spider-Man when in fact Spidey had merely collapsed due to a cold — which Spider-Man won. After robbing a helicopter, Drago was pursued by Kraven the Hunter and ended up fighting him until Spider-Man arrived. Spider-Man managed to defeat them and webbed them up for the police.

Drago later teamed up with Toomes when escaping from prison, but that was merely so that Toomes could prove himself the true Vulture once again. Once free, he was subsequently defeated and humiliated by Toomes whom regained the recognition he deserved. A humbled Blackie was taken away by the police, vowing "I'm through!! I'll never put these wings on again!"

He was seen in the same prison that Norman Osborn was incarcerated in during the "Sinister Twelve" storyline.

Vulture is built on a Mego Fonzie body (so he can "spread his wings"); suit by me; wings by my dear friend David Lee; head molded from a Bowen statue and re-sized by me.

just awesome looking with the added damaged chimney and the gargoyle.

Excellent Austin. I actually never knew the history of this Vulture until I read your post. I always figured he was created just for the cartoon for some reason. Great looking custom.

Terrific job, Austin! EXACTLY how Mego would've done it!
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
