At least of 2014. For a while I wondered if a source piece would ever be found. Then while sitting in a hotel room, watching the scans run, I finally realized it made the biggest step and was going to happen. All the outbids and non existant molds didn't matter anymore. If people realized the piles of aggravation that Chad went through, before he even started the actual designing and printing, they would crap themselves. This was truly a test of perserverence., and the incredible result, shows the undying commitment that went into this project. It's not a doll it's an action figure.Comment

Plus, 3D scanning, however cool it may be, I still used old school sculpting to get this guy built. Seeing the pics Steve chose to put in this thread jogged my memory just how much I actually did by hand.
Of all the roadblocks over the years, the biggest was probably that sculptor I hired. For those who don't know, I gave him all the design specs and he started building it. We had a contract that he was to provide me with a single shark which I was going to mold and make rotocast copies.
He was doing an amazing job, it looked really good....yup, all the way up to him sneaking behind my back, creating a user account here, and his very first thread was in Marketplace trying to gauge interest from potential buyers cause he was selling it. He argued we didn't include a no-competition clause in our contract and it was his to do what he wanted... Kudos to our Mods here for handling that situation with the utmost professionalism.Comment
