    Phoenix

Phoenix.jpg This was a very easy custom to make. She started life as a 9 inch Famous Covers. By cutting her feet off just above the ankles and then adding a pair of retro shazam boots, I now have an 8 inch Phoenix. A slight clip of her belt to clean things up and she is now ready to be carded.

I thought this was rather clever and cheap, as she only cost 7 dollars to buy. Maybe the picture does not do her justice. I think this figure looks awesome. Will post better picture once she is carded.

Interesting that just cutting it off at the ankles would work that well. Aside from the arms being a little long everything else look in perfect 8 inch scale.

The legs were hacksawed off just slightly above the ankles. Making an exact 8 inch Mego in height. The arms are a bit to long but someone running by at full speed would hardly notice. I am gonna try altering the arms on my next famous covers to match the legs. This was purely an experiment and for only 7 bucks invested I think it went pretty well. I really like the head sculpts and costumes of some of the famous covers, and they can still be had at a reasonable price.

If you went with molded gloves and removed the hands that might work for the arms.

I happen to have some molded gloves and gold paint. I may just have a beer on the weekend and experiment. Thanks for the cool tip magyar.
