An effective method to eliminate "zombie" Megos

You were probably thinking this was some Plasti-Dip thread, but it's actually my latest custom.


My new Mego Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes will be able to take care of those annoying "zombie-head" Megos for me!




First off (or perhaps that should read "the first to be offed"), is a "CHiPs" Jon Baker figure whose previous owner left on his helmet far too long, causing a nasty mosaic of discoloration around his head. Goodbye, Zombie...



Now... what did I do with those other discolored heads I acquired?

Full disclosure: The dead-zombie Jon Baker is technically my newest custom. I finished the Rick Grimes last week before leaving for a week-long trip, but did not have time to take any photos of him. I only just this afternoon defaced the CHiPs head, stuck him on a spare body and dressed it in a partially deconstructed extra CHiPs uniform from my collection, just so I could take and post these photos.

I don't need any temptation to create zombies. I have enough broken bodies and limbs to create severl things, but my focus is on principal characters. I have another in the pipeline...

I Googled images of Andrew Lincoln, and stared at them for awhile... then pulled out a bunch of my spare heads to see if any resembled him. I think it was the cleft in Superman's chin that did it. I'm sure you noticed I shaved off as much of the forelock as I could, and that head had serious paint wear which I had to cover-up. In the end, I am happy with the results.

As I said, I have an interest in adding more to this series. I have one more in the works now -- and I think I know what I am doing with one of those extra Uhuras ("Uhuri"?)... beyond that, additions are likely to be opportunistic (i.e, when I find the "perfect" head/body/clothes).
