Back in around 1978/79 I was an avid reader of House of Hammer magazine. Issue 4 blew me away! It contained a comic strip presentation of Hammers 1974 movie, Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires. Shortly after reading the mag I was in the local indie record shop looking for the latest punk or heavy rock masterpiece when I spied an LP entitled Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires. I knew I had to have it so a little later I made my excuses to my friends and want back and bought it (I didn't want my buddies to know as it may have affected my cool status lol).
When I got home and played it I was blown away for the second time. What a wonderful soundtrack and Peter Cushing narrating the story. I must have wore the needle on the record player out that day listening to it over and over again. Now all i had to do was see the movie. Fast forward to around 1986/87. I finally got my chance when I purchased the Warner Home Video and for the third time I was blown away. To me this movie had it all, Kung Fu, Peter Cushing as Van Helsing, Dracula, awesome looking vampires, slow motion shuffling undead, Julie Ege, the beautiful Shih Szu (one of the most gorgeous women to ever grace a Hammer film) and a simply and stunningly awesome soundtrack, which would easily make my Top 5 any day.
Now I know this was butchered for a double bill drive in version in America and there s not a lot of love for it, but for me its a very special movie, one I can watch over and over again so I give what I think is the first figure from the movie in any format. I give you The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires. Full details of price and shipping date can be found at http://www.distinctivedummies.net/golden.html
