    Golden-Age Mr. Terrific

The first-time I ever read a story with Mr. Terrific in it, he died in a JLA-JSA crossover, but I've always liked the guy, even though he's dressed somewhat like a Christmas elf in combat boots. The costume and head are by Brian Leitner. Paul Wasson (Laser Mego) made the Fair Play emblem

Yeah, I think a lot of us met Terry in his final story. He wasn't used much beyond the mid 60s and showed up to die. Sad.

Great figure though! I've always liked his rather odd costume. Reminds me a bit of Alan Scott's in that "thrown together in the dark" way. Great work on it!

I always liked the JSAers best who were "unique" to the Golden Age: Dr. Mid-Night, Hourman, & Mr. Terrific.

Very nice custom. Beautiful addition to a Mego JSA set. To quote T-Bolt; "Just like Mego would have done him."

                      Figure Looks great Terry!

This is one of those guys I do not know.
I thought Mr. Terrific was Afro-American?

Or did that guy take over for the one that died?

^The Golden-age Mr. Terrific, Terry Sloan, was a street-level masked man in the 40s who had a back-up feature in Sensation Comics and eventually joined the JSA in All-Star Comics. Sloan was a genius with a photographic memory and an Olympic-level athlete. He was also a millionaire philanthropist who started the Fair Play Club to help underprivileged kids avoid juvenile delinquency. He appeared in several JSA-JLA team-ups, starting with the third in JLA 37. He was killed by the Spirit King in JLA No. 172. The Spirit King framed the Golden-age Flash for the murder. I havnt read that two parter since it came out in the late 70s or early 80s, but I remember it being a very good story. To me, he's always stood out for dying.

Brian Leitner did a great job on the figure.
