Star trek dida display set/laser mego accessories with extended role play, play set

Hello to everyone, you'll have to forgive me for having to ask. I've been a viewer of this site for years but I've never ever really posted anything before. So I was wondering if anyone could tell me or explain how to share my custom completed Mego playset. I've been inspired for years by everyone in the community. And over the course of the last few years I've been playing with and altering a concept that was only able to become real thanks to the incredible products by Dida Displays and Laser Mego. Now i have finally reached the completion of what my brother and I ( children of the seventies and Mego lovers) have labored to make real. Ours is the idea of what we would have loved to have seen christmas morning in 1978, under the tree. To command our own starship Enterprise, and with it .....it's entire crew. So never having done this, could some one inform as to how to show or share the pics of our completed custom? With that being said....I have to give so much respect and appreciation to Dida Displays and Laser Mego, truly...without what you have done ....it would not even be possible. You enabled us to realize a dream, a scribbled thought on a note pad. Thank you to you guys so much! And a thank you to every member of this community who have kept megos alive and created a living universe with every custom, every figure, accessory, playset. All of you have inspired us! Thank you to all of you!

Here is the photobucket link.........thank you community!!!

first you need to upload the pics to a picture hosting site such as photobucket, then copy the img link there and paste in your thread here. Can't wait to see it.

Ok Thunderbolt...I'll try to get that set up...again ...never really used sites like those, so I'll take a stab at it. Thank you for providing some helpful info. Hopefully people will like what we did. Years of looking at everyone's designs...it was finally time to do it. Thank you!

Thank you so much Pngwynne and thunderbolt.....also laser mego gave me some help in trying to post.

Here's the link to my photobucket profile account...... There are a number of photos....I apologize, but it's kind of necessary to get the whole scope. But please by all means take a look, and certainly let me know the link works...it should I tried it from a separate computer. And I hope you enjoy it.... I will get videos up as well....as seeing it in action is even more fun. But a huge thank you to all who have inspired and made it possible.....!!!!!!

Wow!!! That is really swell! Looks amazing. Can you just imagine getting that as a kid?

Your concept for the partial saucer and nacelles is very clever, and a real toyetic solution to the enormous problem of scale.

                  I love it.

Yes and it's done so well! What's the saucer made of? It just reflects light so amazingly!

Thank you so much guys....The whole body is 1/8 colored gloss acrylic...it's internal frame work is construction grade vinyl....screwed and acrylic glues....minus dida display cases...but the approach very much was to have it be toyetic....we wanted to follow the basic real estate used by Scotts dida display foot print. To stay around the same acreage. We also wanted it very much in the Mego verse. Toys of that age ...even now....take all kinds of liberties with scale shape and form. So in thinking about it like say GI Joes battleship flagg.....we obviously thought going for a straight true to form playset would never fit through the door.....so we followed the principle of perspectives.....so depending on where a kid is playing he always looks up and around and gets the sense of the enterprise....or she....no offense. Plus we designed it to be collapsible and easy enough to place under a bed. It is large....but we felt it was no more extreme than some of the great toy designs of the past. But again we never would have attempted this if we hadnt been witnessing everything else that so many have created. Our grandmother had a saying......" if it doesn't exist, then create it"......so we did. Thank you so much....I hope you guys enjoy it....I think a great many understand the joy of such a thing. I'm just happy to finally have something the my brother and I can contribute to the community as they have all these years!

I love so much about this. The lighting features, the skylight, the craftsmanship... all top notch.

But the thing that got me was the blue chairs. It actually took me a moment to process that those were Paul's lasercut chairs rather than vintage Mego (which would have been stools, of course). That one detail kind of made this project "click" for me. I love that you didn't go for hyper-realistic... that you kept a bright, shiny TOY sensibility to it. This is a playset that begs to be played with!

I thought it was an odd request to have the chairs made in turquoises, but man did it turn out nice!

Thank you!...but your right...Pauls chairs, consoles, helm.....( I have his bio beds...completing sickbay)...and Scotts dida displays make the whole thing even possible.......With out them...we probably wouldn't have even attempted it.....but it is meant to be played with, definitely.....would want kids running to it!!!!!
