The Legion of Doom -- Finally COMPLETE!

Come on now, who hasn't wanted a set of Mego Legion of Doom villains? Ever since the show debuted in 1978 I have wanted them all. But, Mego never made them. How can you "collect 'em all" when they don't "make 'em all"? Right?

There were only three I had left to make: Brainiac, Gorilla Grodd and Giganta. The other ten in the group I had either made years ago or simply included the brilliantly Megoesque Retro Action Mattel figure in its place.

Brainiac is built on a Mego T2 body. Head made years and years ago by me; CTVT boots and belt; paints and suit by yours truly.

Gorilla Grodd is built on a new tall muscle body from drmego.com. Suit by me; paints by me; head by Next2LastMohican; enlarged Mugato feet by me. Should have painted the hands and feet the same color as his face but, oh well, too late now. LOL.

Giganta is built on a Mego 12" Coppertone Candi body. Her head is enlarged from the DC build a figure head; paints by me; suit fabric by me and brilliantly sewn by Hawkmike. Will add bracelets and anklets when I find ones worthy.

    with Apache Chief

with Batman and my LOD Riddler to show scale

I can now present for the first time in public my custom (and complete) Legion of Doom displayed with the magnificent Hall of Doom playset by Dida Displays and Lasermego.com

I hope you enjoy my customs as much as I do, and as always, thanks for looking.

    Peace, Love and Megos,

    Austin

PS Next week, for the final week of 2013, I plan to unveil my most dangerous customs project yet. I hope you can all attend.

Grod is adorable! Totally Mego. I luv it. You channeled Marty Abrams on that one.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

Man Austin, that is one perfect set of villians!!!
Fantastic work as always, and oh so Megoey, which I love about them.
That Brainiac is really making me want one, it is so perfect. You could sell tons of them on Ebay, as well as any of the rest of the group!
            Lovin' Gorilla Grodd too!

Those turned out great! The group pic is way cool and I'm loving Braniac!

Is the Cheetah head a modified Charlie's Angel head? I'm not familiar with the body you used for Gorilla Grodd. I know Doc Mego sells them but are they a more accurate size than the original Hulk/Thing body?

^^^the Cheetah head is a shrunk Charlie's Angels Cheryl Ladd head with hair removed with Cheetah cowl sculpted by me.

The tall muscle bodies can be found at http://drmego.fatcow.com/store/page10.html. Scroll a bit down the page. They are white.

Love them! Yes, I remembered LOD Megos being at the top of my "wish they made them " list then, something that persists to this day.

Wow, they look just like they stepped off the TV screen on Saturday morning! And they look great in the playset! Awesome job, Austin!

that is the best pink-Brainiac I've ever seen!

for me, that's the classic and most iconic.
